The Creek Meeting House Historic Structure Report is a report developed in 2024-2025 to guide the restoration of the Creek Meeting House. It begins with an analysis of the history and context of the construction of the meeting house during the American Revolution by members of the Religious Society of Friends in what is today Clinton Corners, NY and its subsequent use into the 21st century as the headquarters of the Town of Clinton Historical Society. Following the historical narrative the preservation architecture firm of John G. Waite Associates presents a detailed building analysis including measured drawings, architectural description, character defining features, existing conditions, and recommendations for the building’s repair, maintenance and restoration. The Creek Meeting House is on the National Register of Historic Places, a distinction it shares with the adjacent Friends Cemetery.
The Historic Structure Report was prepared with funding from the Preservation League of New York State and private contributions to the Clinton Historical Society.
