PRESERVATION AWARD

The Clinton Historical Society Preservation Award is presented to individuals who have made significant contributions to the preservation of Clinton’s heritage. Eligible projects include local history research and publication, preservation of local historic structures, and preservation and exhibition of historical and archival collections.

For designation of the Town of Clinton hamlets as Critical Environmental Areas.

Allan Mueser
For initiating GASP, a citizens group opposed to the Iroquois Gas Line planned to run through Clinton.

Carol Valentine
For scenic roads designation by the Town of Clinton.

Emil Schoch
For establishing the Clinton Historical Society Landmarks program.

Bill McDermott
Founder of the Clinton Historical Society, author/editor of Clinton: A History of a Town.

2000
George Greenwood
For excellent contributions in research, design, and implementation of four highly successful summer exhibits of Dutchess County railroad history at the Clinton Historical Society.

Michelle and Judah Kraushaar
For restoration of their 19th century barns complex at Schultzville Road and Salt Point Turnpike.

2011
Norene Coller and Viola Schoch
For the publication of The Cookinghams of Primrose Hill Farm, which documents the history of the notable Cookingham family, their farm, and early farm life in Clinton.

Eleanor Rogers
For dedicated long-term efforts that led to the establishment of the Clinton Historical Society archive of artifacts and documents, and research and publication of articles related to the history of Clinton.
