Clinton Historical Society Wins Award!
We are proud to announce that our Society has been named by the Greater Hudson Heritage Network (GHHN) as one of eight winners in their 2018 Awards for Excellence competition for our summer exhibit “Clinton: 1828-1938.” GHHN is a statewide organization that provides services to museums, historical societies, and historic sites to aid in collections preservation and management, education programs, and professional development. The Awards for Excellence program seeks to recognize and commend exceptional efforts among GHHN members that have completed projects that exemplify creativity and professional vision resulting in a contribution to the preservation and interpretation of the local historic scene. Other awardees include the Hudson River Museum (Yonkers) and the Ellenville Museum.
CHS was also a winner in GHHN’s 2015 Awards for Excellence for its publication Building Clinton, An Architectural Survey 1760-1965. We also just received a grant of $739 from GHHN for conservation supplies for our museum collection.
Priscilla Brendler, Executive Director of GHHN, presented the Awards for Excellence certificate to V.P. Craig Marshall, representing the Clinton Historical Society, at the GHHN Annual Conference held at the Bear Mountain Inn on
September 25, 2018.
Congratulations and thank you to all those who helped make our summer exhibit a success!
